I’m a graduate of Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage specializing in deep tissue and therapeutic massage to help my clients lead an active, pain-free life. I am an instructor at Bodymechanics, currently teaching anatomy, physiology and pathology. In the past, I was the lead instructor for business, ethics & communication skills to the next generation of massage therapists.
My goal is to make learning fun, because I believe it results in better retention of the material. The subject matter may be dry, but my students still have fun and learn a great deal.
Engineering Background
Before I became a massage therapist, I was an electrical engineer and engineering manager in the high tech world. This has given me a tremendous insight into the stresses and injuries that are common in today’s work world. My work in the computer field led me to an interest in how to treat Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, and the dreaded “sore shoulders” complaints..
My 24+ years as a design engineer provided me with a strong background in troubleshooting and science that is critical in helping me find the source of my clients’ pain. I have a Bachelor of Science degree (that’s the BS in my title) and am drawn to the medical aspects of massage.
I have a private practice in Lacey, WA and publish Massage Therapy World, a blog for massage therapists.
