Caring for the Cubicle Wounded
Your clients spend 8 hours a day working at a computer, putting them at risk for repetitive strain injuries like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Blackberry thumb, and Thoracic Outlet syndrome. Having spent 26 years in front of a computer, instructor Kelli Wise BS LMP knows first hand the types of problems you will encounter and wants to teach you how to treat the cubicle wounded.
This class will go beyond treating scalenes and pec minor to cover all the muscles involved in CTS, TOS, and text thumb including the muscles of the neck, arms, hand, and chest. You’ll come away with effective treatment plans to keep your cubicle warriors in the game!
We’ll study the median nerve from its origins in the brachial plexus through the carpal tunnel, covering all the areas of compression. We’ll study how postural habits and workstation setup affect your clients and how to provide them with long lasting relief and tips to help them prevent problems from reoccurring.
You’ll learn palpation and assessment skills and techniques to reduce hypertonicities and get rid of trigger points.
